St Joseph's Primary School involved a two story building located in Hawthorn, Victoria, with a multipurpose hall situated at ground level. The architect preferred the first floor system comprised of a timber concrete-composite (TCC) system for acoustics.17m span LVL beams sourced from New Zealand and pre-fabricated in our Melbourne factory, and prefinished with a clear coating. This allowed for high degree processing with tolerances in the order of  ± 0.5mm.

The project involved the supply and install of 1000mm deep prefabricated LVL portal rafters. 400x63 LVL joists with perimeter LVL trimmer. Supplies for connections and fasteners, 25mm plywood on full floor system. Structural design and shop drawings to be delivered on site.

We believed that the project would benefit with the integration of timber pre-fabrication, which turned out to be a huge advantage. With the intention to fabricate the components in the factory to maximize quality, the end result meant that on site assembling was done effectively and efficiently.
