The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) new schools program led to the opening of 14 new schools in Victoria in 2024. Specialised Timber Fabrication supplied timber trusses for the Learning Neighbourhood and Visual Arts Buildings at both Greenvale Secondary School in Melbourne’s north, and Clyde Creek Primary School in the south-east.

The traditional bolted trusses involved a high degree of finish, with exposed connection plates painted white to stand out against the clear-stained timber. Using GLT F17 hardwood sourced from Australian Sustainable Hardwood, we prefabricated a total of 36 trusses in 8m and 10m lengths before delivering to site for installation by Standstruct.
